THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST, Position Description Number PDT5210000 and is part of the MA ANG 102nd IW, National Guard. This is a Non-Bargaining Unit position. Duties

1. Manages a most complex, highly technical environmental management and protection program and serves as the installation's single most knowledgeable expert on DoD, AF, ANG, EPA state specific environmental laws and regulations. Environmental Management duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (1) Hazardous Waste Management; (2) Storm Water Management and Control; (3) Air Quality; (4) Water Quality; (5) Pollution Prevention; (6) Green Procurement; (7) Environmental Restoration Program (ERP); (8) Cultural and Natural Resources Management; (9) Spill Prevention and Response; (10) Environmental Management System; (11) Environmental Impact Analysis Program (EIAP) Management; and (12) Qualified Recycling Program Management. (30%)

• This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 days per year unless otherwise approved by TAG.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Nationwide - All U.S. Citizens GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have either: A. Bachelor Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1 year experience equivalent to GS-11. Experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of months/years. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
