This position is with the Crow Service Unit located at the Pryor Health Clinic in Pryor, MT. Incumbent performs work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices; Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, as well as Heating/Cooling, Electrical and Medical Equipment Repair.
Duties
Paints interior and exterior surfaces on existing buildings and equipment using standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying. Prepares surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, or using wire brushes. Patches and fills plaster and wood surfaces. Mixes and blends paints and other surface coating materials to match or to contrast desired colors. Cuts paper and metal stencils for lettering and other stenciling.
Independently alters and repairs framework, rafter, interior and exterior trim, doors, window, and prefinished paneling. Relocates room partitions, lays floor covering, repairs roofs. Accuracy and fit are important as is final appearance and structural soundness.
Independently installs and modifies existing or new plumbing facilities in existing clinical buildings and dependent housing including utility supply and disposal systems, toilets, tubs and showers, sinks, and dental units. Locates and taps mainlines. Installs valves and traps. Seals hookups and tests new equipment. Removes, cleans, replaces, packs and seals defective parts of disposal and supply systems including traps, broken tile, and leaky drains. Clears plugged lines. Installs and repairs garbage disposals. Accurately completes on time, assigned pm's involving plumbing equipment, such as backflow preventers, domestic hot water boilers, water filtration systems, drains, etc.
Inspects common low pressure steam, water, and hot air oil and gas fired furnaces. Removes and cleans motors and nozzles. Checks and repairs electrodes, fan motors, dampers and filters. Replaces defective relays, protects relay units, limit control switches, and thermostats. Cleans and replaces heat exchanger units. Installs, inspects, monitors, and repairs a small steam pump and piping system maintained about 50 PSI. Accurately completes on time, assigned pm's involving heating and cooling equipment, such as heating boilers, cooling chillers, air handling units, VAV boxes & actuators, exhaust fans, etc.
Independently makes repairs to domestic and clinical electrical systems where common procedures are used. Repairs include replacing light switches and fixtures, wall outlets, motors, fans, pumps, dental units. Parts are removed, tester, soldered, tightened and/or spliced. Broken or worn wiring is replaced. Installs breaker and junction boxes and conduit. Installs new electrical circuits. Accurately completes on time, assigned pm's involving electrical equipment, such as exit lights, GFI outlets, emergency generators, etc.
Occasionally may be required to assist Biomedical Department in troubleshooting and repairing clinical equipment.
Qualifications
