You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST/DATA SCIENTIST (SECTION HEAD/PRODUCT OWNER) in the Logistics Department, Readiness and Fleet Analytics Division, Advanced Analytics & Innovation (AA&I) Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will be responsible for the supervision of interdisciplinary scientists, research analysts, and mathematicians assigned to and providing direct support to developing big data analytic tools, processes, and procedures.
You will be responsible for decomposing requirements into what needs to be developed for an interdisciplinary team of scientists. The team is responsible for determining how the requirements are accomplished.
You will be responsible for the products vision and development by interfacing with customers and related subject matter experts.
You will provide for adequate training, facilities, equipment, processes and provide leadership to enable personnel to competently and successfully perform their assigned functions and tasks.
You will process documentation and refinement, financial analyses and budgets.
You will brief senior Navy and DOD officials regarding program logistical and technical support issues.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade (GS-9-12) level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading the development of user-centric interactive reports, data analysis, data science techniques, and visualization solutions (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, and Power BI). 2) Leading a team or group of people to effectively deliver a technical data focused product. 3) Organizing, managing, and executing funds for members on their team. 4) Practicing experience using the Scrum framework (or other agile frameworks) to lead teams of interdisciplinary engineers and scientists to build data analytical products. 5) Addressing and resolving conflict between members on their team or technical work within their team.

1515 SERIES:
Basic Education Requirements: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
1560 SERIES:
Basic Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
