You will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist in the MATERIAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (63) of the NAVAL SEA LOGISTICS CENTER (NSLC) of NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA in Corona, CA.

Duties

You will perform a wide variety of duties including traffic management, freight classification, and rating. You will determine special services and equipment required for the shipment of various commodities, and the record preparation and maintenance of those commodities. You will be responsible for the total traffic management functions in support of the Warfare Centers and be responsible for insuring the greatest economies in the expenditure of funds. You will be responsible for all aspects of daily work performance of the traffic management (commercial freight) function.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying developments in transportation technology for measuring organizational effectiveness in achieving transportation goals and objectives. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning installation transportation operations for the movement of material and equipment (e.g., confidential, secret, pilferable, unclassified materials and vehicles, via air, rail, or truck). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS-11:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree;
OR
An LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

OR

For GS-09:
A master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
LL.B. or J.D. degree that is related to the position being filled.
