You will serve as a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AVIONICS) in the Naval Air Technical and Engineering Service Command of NV AIR TECHNICAL DATA AND ENGRG SVC. If selected your salary will be set as follows: MIRAMAR, CA: GS-09: $68,297 - $88,786 GS-11: $82,633 - $107,421 NORFOLK, VA: GS-09: $60,808 - $79,050 GS-11: $73,572 - $95,641

Duties

You will provide technical advice and assistance on the acceptance, installation, operation, and/or maintenance of assigned aviation systems. You will advise technicians on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis. You will prepare informal training to include on the job, classroom, demonstration training. You will prepare NATEC Technical Reports and other appropriate reports on subjects of interest or concern to other Fleet activities and commands. You will represent NATEC at various technical meetings and provisioning conferences. You will review related technical publications and manuals for completeness and accuracy and keep abreast of the latest state of the art equipment and procedures.

  • Must obtain and maintain all required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-11 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provide technical training in advanced electronic calibration concepts including theory, application and operation of test equipment and standards: 2) Possess documented experience in calibration of test equipment and standards for resistance, impedance, voltage, current, frequency, signal generation systems, power, and attenuation, including theory pertaining to fixed and swept measurements at microwave frequencies; 3) In depth knowledge and skills to operate, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair avionics test sets and General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) to the lowest replaceable component/assembly utilizing a multi-meter, frequency counter timer, oscilloscope or signal generator; 4) Should have attended CNATT instruction on calibration and/or repair of general-purpose electronic test equipment; 5) Should have documented experience in Intermediate Maintenance Work Centers 610 and/or 670. GS-09 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
