This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sill with AMCOM Combined Logistics Command (ACLC) Missile and Fire Division.
Duties
Perform analysis/diagnosis and final alignment of multiple subassemblies, assemblies and components used in electronic systems of the AVENGER Missile System, the SENTINEL Radar Systems and associated equipment.
Use a broad extensive knowledge of electronic principles and theory to certify, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify and adjust a wide variety of complex guided missile components and related devices including electronic guidance system integration.
Perform a variety of operations such as inspecting, testing, aligning, positioning, fastening, and repairing the AVENGER Missile system and SENTINEL Radar Systems.
Provide assistance to sub journeyman in missile disassembly, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, modifying, and repairing of individual subassemblies and/or the complete missile system.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (Tier 3: Noncritical-Sensitive, Moderate Risk).
- Position is required to work Shift Work.
- Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- A pre-employment physical examination is required.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge of the following: Utilize electronic principles and theories in order to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions on a wide variety of electronic chassis, circuitry and instrument systems as they interface in guided missile system; develop and/or recommend changes to repair, maintenance, alignment, and test procedures; And operate and maintain the associated test equipment to develop/recommend test procedures for system upgrades and modifications. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Exerts moderate physical effort in continuous handling of objects weighing up to 45 pounds. Occasionally the incumbent lifts and carries objects weighing in excess of 45 pounds. Incumbent is required to stoop, bend, crawl, and/or stand eight to ten hours per day.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normally works in well-lighted heated and ventilated shop area. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns, and shock caused by handling soldering irons, high voltage energy, explosive components, etc. Work is performed in a missile assembly shop area. Incumbent is subject to frequent exposure of cold, heat, noise, dirt, grease, and fumes. May be required to wear protective clothing and is required to wear safety shoes and glasses. Works on concrete floors.
