The purpose of this position is to provide support services for the Health Center through management, inventory, utilization and maintenance of the inventory and stock control of supplies, equipment, GSA vehicles and mail services that are essential in providing direct health care delivery. This position is located at Chinle Service Unit, Pinon Health Center, Division of Administrative Service, General Services Department, Pinon, Arizona.
Duties
Determines equipment and supply requirements for immediate and long range use.
Ensures correct incoming shipment supplies, materials and equipment against packing slip and purchase order or other related documents.
Verifies correct shipment address, unloads various material sizes, weights and types of containers off freight including receipt of packages from courier services, checks for visible damage, verifies count, acknowledges receipt of goods and record information.
Prepares and completes requisitions to order administrative supplies, medical supplies and equipment.
Checks in, checks out government motor vehicle for daily use, maintains and prepares monthly motor vehicle records.
Manages, monitors and records official incoming and outgoing mail and submit reports for metered mail.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
WG-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: work involved in receiving, storing, and assembling for issue, shipment, and distribution, a wide variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities using mechanized, automated, and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems. The work requires general knowledge of the methods used in processing, handling, and storing of materials and equipment through a supply facility; the ability to log receipt, storage, and shipment data; and the ability to use manual or mechanized equipment to move, stack, bin, and position materials and equipment. The work also requires the ability to organize, arrange, and remove stock in storage areas in accordance with established procedures to prevent damage, deterioration, and loss. Most work requires the incidental or regular use of fork lifts and motor vehicles.
Physical Effort: Materials handlers are often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. They may lift and carry items that weigh up to 8 kilograms (40 pounds). The heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
Working Conditions: Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Materials handlers are regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapers, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, they may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as hardhats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
