About the position: This position will be assigned to the Cannon Lanes on Cannon Air Force Base, Covis, New Mexico

Duties

Installs, adjusts, repairs, overhauls and regularly inspects bowling facility electrical, electronics and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic ball cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines. Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment referring to manuals for diagrams and specifications. Follows manufacturer's maintenance schedules and makes changes as necessary. Disassembles and replaces or repairs mechanical and electronical parts using soldering irons, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other hand tools. Cleans and lubricates machines. Measures and regulates sweep of rakes on automatic pinsetters using hand tools and gauges. Runs automatic pinsetter through complete cycle and inspects for pin setting accuracy. Conditions, maintains and repairs bowling pins and lane. Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters using wood and plastic lane stock and sanding and recoating surfaces. Maintains required record and reports; initiates request for spare parts, supplies, and hand equipment; performs general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper standards of appearance, cleanliness, and safety of assigned spaces. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment which provided a thorough knowledge of the mechanical and electrical principles and operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment and the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams and manufacturer's service manuals. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally push or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb, stand, and work in awkward positions. Must know how to measure and drill bowling balls and able to instruct children and adults in how to bowl.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
