Duties

Position Description #D1259000 This position description (PD) has been reviewed and it is determined that: the major duties equal 100%; the statement Performs other duties as assigned (PODAA) is present; where applicable, the factors, levels, and points are identified directly under PODAA, add up correctly, and the Point Range for the grade is present; and, the Conditions of Employment are located in the Conditions of Employment & Notes section, and if required, Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 25% or more (may be less if requested by management), is included. The PD is in the format of the classification standard of record, and the standard(s) is/are cited properly, and the title/series/grade are properly determined based on the standard. The FLSA is correct and when it is determined that the position is Exempt, a complete explanation is provided, and all outdated/obsolete forms are removed. (All position descriptions require a cursory review upon initial verification in FASCLASS and may be reviewed again every 3 years thereafter, or before if OPM issues a new classification standard or guide) Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in military assignment in WV's National Guard, and is required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered, or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance, AND, as a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to assignment.
• The agency will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request of the agency a legally required exception from this requirement.
• Establishes plans, schedules, and controls the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering
• Studies directives, modification work orders, and regulations as to their application in the unit.
• Designates and maintains current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes
• Provides assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment
• Analyzes repair methods and recommends control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities.
• In the absence of the higher graded production controller, ensures that unit CL IX accounts are funded, budgeted.
• May provide day-to-day technical guidance to lower-graded personnel assisting in the maintenance production or maintenance management processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: experience, education or training scheduling workflow in more than one area and responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities. Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility. Experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
