THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number PDD1410000 and is part of the MA ANG 104th FW, National Guard. This is a Bargaining Unit position. Duties

(1) On a regular and recurring basis, leads three or more aircraft mechanics,crew chiefs, and specialist personnel performing work in the inspection docks.

Qualifications

*This is an indefinite position, tenure 3, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Any permanent military technician who is selected for this position will become tenure 3. The selectee will receive the same benefits and entitlements as the tenure 1 employee, but will be considered tenure 3 for purposes of reduction in force. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which it has provided me with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. I am skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of months/years. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
