This position is located in the Court Reporting Division in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Deputy Director of the Court Reporting Division is responsible for managing the daily work operations of the Court Reporting Division to include exercising leadership, general authority, and direction of 40 Court Reporting Division employees.   

Duties

In the absence of the CRD Director, incumbent assumes the full responsibility of that position, to include the specific and delegated authority and latitude to make administrative and management decisions for the assigned branches and offices within prescribed parameters.

  • Background and security investigation are required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of management experience with at least three (3) years of experience as a senior level manager leading and/or managing a court reporting division, freelance firm, or transcription services provider; or ten (10) years of management experience with at least three (3) years of experience as a senior level manager leading and/or managing a court reporting division, freelance firm, or transcription services provider. Ability to bring about strategic change, to meet organizational goals, establish an organizational vision and to implement it in a continuously changing environment Ability to lead people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals; and to provide an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts Knowledge of pertinent laws pertaining to Court administration and operations Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required.  If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
