The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of procurement control duties involving supplies, transfers, equipment accountability, and other general office duties. Assigned duties will be dependent upon the daily operational supply and equipment needs of the commissary.
Duties
Performs a variety of procurement control duties involving supplies, transfers, equipment accountability, and other general office duties in various departments of the commissary (meat, grocery, produce, warehouse, front-end, and cash office).
Responsible for accountability and control, procurement, issue, and disposition of supplies and equipment such as cash registers, meat slicers/grinders, refrigerators, forklifts, and other general equipment.
Maintains the property accounting register relating to supplies and equipment.
Assists management with cyclic accountable inventories.
Ensures items of urgent demand or critical nature meet regulatory guidelines for procurement.
Maintains adequate stock and keeps shelves neat and orderly.

Requirements

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2005 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify.
Experience: One (1) year equivalent to at least next lower grade level (GS-06).
Specialized Experience:
Prepares or initiates the purchase request/commitment (PR&C) forms and performs over the counter purchases.
Prepares issue, turn-in and other transaction documentation for non-expendable property.
Make inquires to determine cause of inventory discrepancies by checking all related property and band receipt documentation.
Initiates works orders for repair/maintenance of facilities through supporting activities and monitors progress in obtaining needed services.
Maintains fund control sheets and controls funds ceilings established to prevent exceeding budgetary limits
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 60 pounds unassisted. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
