About the position: This position will be assigned to the Scott AFB Library..
This is a Flexible position, 0-40 hours per week.
???????Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching; pushing loaded book trucks; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items.
Duties
Shelves books, magazines, and other library materials ensuring all materials are reshelved in correct order and maintained in correct order in their assigned areas. Checks conditions of library materials and removes obsolete/damaged items. Assists with annual inventory, statistics and filing of library collection and follows procedures within the procurement/acquisition process. Assists with circulation duties, customer accounts and service to include receiving requests and ensuring the requests are filled. Assists in implementing programs, publicity and marketing of library services. Explains library rules to customers and ensures the rules are observed. Performs routine clerical tasks and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to reach up to 72 inches with or without the assistance of a step stool. Must be physically able to frequently lift boxes up to 40 pounds.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind that demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Experience or training that demonstrates the ability to perform simple computer and word processing. Typing skills are desirable. Ability in dealing with the public.
