This TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST position is located in the Distribution Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Aviation Wing and is part of the CA 144 FW.
Duties
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2130-9, is to serve as a Distribution Traffic Management Specialist, which provides technical expertise, support and execution relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime. Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes Deployment and Distribution programs.
Qualifications
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2130-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience, education, or training, involving the movement of freight or passengers and determining transportation and operating costs; Experience participating in the direction and coordination of traffic management functions; Experience interpreting and providing routine advice on carrier tariffs and related routing guides; Interpreting regulations/requirements and developing local policies to implement changes effectively; Experience applying applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures; Experience preparing reports and recommendations involving appeals, special permits, adjustments in rates and charges; Experience which involved negotiations with carriers on individual shipments or traffic movement; Experience in making effective presentations both orally and in writing.

Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
