The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and advise on Education and Training; and develop, deliver, and evaluate education services programs and oversees education activities or assigned Airmen and family members of organization. Organization location of position: 480th ISR Group, 480 ISR Group and associated AF organization; Fort Gordon Army Base, GA.

Duties

DUTY 1 - Provides individual career, academic, and force development advisement to military personnel of all ranks, their dependents, and/or civilian personnel pursuing undergraduate/graduate, vocational, technical, licensure/certification, and professional development opportunities at various levels. DUTY 2 - Serves as technical expert on a variety of educational programs. DUTY 3 - Performs a variety of outreach and customer services duties. DUTY 4 - Performs a variety of duties involving reports, testing, and special projects.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is a designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to SCI. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

  • Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to include overtime and workload demands.

Qualifications

This is a GG-09 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-09 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-09 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR GG-1740 POSITIONS: A degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. At least one course must have been from (1) or (2): Tests and measurement: Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests. Adult education: Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities. Educational program administration: Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs. Curriculum development or design: Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs. Teaching methods: Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner. Guidance and counseling: Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation. Career planning: Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems. Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information and resources. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: Knowledge of education theories, principles, procedures, and practices of secondary, adult, or continuing education programs and their accrediting process. Ability to gather, develop, and analyze a variety of data and to make recommendations based on analysis. Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of education theories, principles, procedures and practices of secondary, adult, or continuing education programs and their accrediting process. 2. Knowledge of a variety of academic, occupational, vocational and career development resources (educational and/or community). 3. Ability to interpret agencies' directives, instructions, and guidance and make local decisions and recommendations based on analysis. 4. Ability to gather, develop, and analyze a variety of data to make recommendations based on analysis. 5. Skil in conducting interviews and delivery of formal and informal presentations and briefings. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
