About the Position: Works under the supervision of the Training Support Center Supervisor within an IMCOM Installation Directorate of Plans, Training,Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) who provides overall objectives, goals and priorities.

Duties

Accomplish training mission tasks independently by performing assignments within established guidelines and procedures. Written guidance is generally available in the form of catalogs, pamphlets, lesson plans, and programs of instruction, technical manuals, and regulations and directives describing work to be accomplished, policies and procedures. Select appropriate sources to develop Programs of Instruction (POI) and perform duties and develops and executes revised training procedures concerning the services to be provided when there are unusual circumstances or a new mission. Provides knowledge and expertise to individual unit personnel. Operates training devices and simulators. Perform Contracting Technical Officer Representative duties.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes assisting in conducting the preparation and presentation of formal courses of instruction in a military training environment; assisting with the development of interactive multi-media training tools for training courses; mentoring students to meet course objectives; write and develop course lesson plans; and use multiple office automation software tools with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: PhD. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Adult Education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
