The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the day to day operations of the Youth Center.
Duties
Performs clerical and administrative work in support of the program.
Serves as USDA Food Service Monitor or alternate for the Youth Center Program.
Monitors and manages the reception/front desk area.
Assists in the Youth Center Programs.

- Must satisfactorily complete a physical examination upon hire and every three years thereafter.

- Informs patrons, via e-mail distribution, of upcoming parent involvement events, trainings, Parent Advisory Board meetings, and other necessary information.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience. Examples of general experience include progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures, preparing various routine correspondence/reports, maintaining files/records, and reviewing and processing mail, applying regulations, procedures, and processesreferencing office administrative and clerical procedures to answer telephones, maintain files/office forms, order supplies, and general administrative guidance.

EDUCATION: I have successfully completed two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify provided the combined total of your education and experience equals 100% of the requirement. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Youth Center regulations, procedures, and processes.
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures to answer telephones, maintain files/office forms, order supplies, and genera administrative guidance.
Knowledge of various automation programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and to produce a variety of documents.
Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed.
Ability to locate, assemble, and compose routine, non-technical information for recurring reports and inquiries.
Ability to consistently communicate effectively orally and in writing, using courtesy and tact. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
