Duties

This position is within the U.S. Border Patrol Program Management Office Directorate (PMOD), Mobile Portfolio and it will allow you to use your expertise in managing and overseeing a critical program segment which has program office-wide or CBP-wide impact. PMOD exists solely for the purpose of making agents safer and more effective, and in doing so makes critical contributions to advancing the USBP mission and national security. Crucial to this is providing the field with the modern technology and infrastructure they need when they need it. This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to Career Transition Assistance Plan, Federal Employee-Current, Federal Employee-Former, Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan, Interchange Agreements With Other Merit Systems, Land Management, Promotion Potential - Current/Former Fed, and Veterans Employment Opportunities Act (GS-14 Step 10). In this Program Manager position, you will oversees the planning and execution of assigned acquisition program. Typical work assignments include: Managing the constraints of cost, schedule, and performance; long range planning for acquisition programs; acquisition program budget and financial management; program execution; and monitoring contractor performance Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating acquisition, pre-deployment, and deployment activities of a program Conducting and organizing various Subject Matter Experts (SME), stakeholders and Border Patrol personnel to identify and present programmatic plans for consensus to complete programmatic requirements Determining goals and objectives that need additional emphasis, developing measures that evaluating performance, making recommendations for program and project improvement Managing all resources as corporate assets, and organizational changes and major changes to the structure and content of the program and project performed

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing a variety of administration program and reports related to cost, schedule, and performance issues Directing a wide variety of studies and analysis of complex functions and processes Overseeing the planning and effectiveness of an acquisition program Implementing and coordinating acquisition program policies, practices, methods and organizational structure Providing technical advice and support on program issues to senior officials NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 04/25/2024.
