About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is located on the shores of Commencement Bay, within pristine eyesight of Mount Rainier. World-class museums, hotels and theaters.
Duties
Analyzes the programs and systems to discover potential logistics problems and adverse medical supply trends.
Identifies and develops innovative approaches to stockage levels in support of MTF program/systems.
Interacts with senior leaders about support requirements and project management issues, including persuading others and mediating disagreements among key parties.
Writes, revises, and executes medical logistics plans, procedures, and functional guides in support of NCR-MD emergency preparedness missions, essential tasks, and essential supporting activities.
Participates in meetings, conferences, briefings, and discussions concerning the wide-array of program support aspects to the Market.
Coordinates with other organizational leaders throughout DoD on joint projects to ensure balanced, technically and functionally compatible programs of mutual interest.
Resolves conflicts between system requirements, medical and logistics policy, and current processes and procedures.
Renders logistics technical advice, consultation, and assistance to leaders, managers, and staff members of supported organizations relative to medical logistics projects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation.
- Financial Management - FM-Certification Level 2 may be required.
- Immunization screening may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing and implementing new policies and procedures for medical logistics management; analyzing existing and future logistics management support policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness; & knowledge of medical logistical functions such as medical readiness reports, medical maintenance support, & contracting support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
