This position is part of the WAPA-DSW-Desert Southwest. As an Engineering Technician, you will perform a variety of duties related to the functional responsibilities in supporting activities in computer aided engineering/computer aided drafting (CAE/CAD), design automation, and software support. This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the Phoenix, AZ duty location.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-09] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following items: Experience using technical drawing concepts in the preparation of design drawings for construction and maintenance projects which include, building an AutoCAD model. Provides technical advice, consultation and is the subject matter expert in the application of a computer aided engineering (CAE) system to engineering design functions. Preparation of construction specifications, drawing packages, and standards. The ability to complete drafting markups/revisions based on comments from a review or inconsistencies between engineering disciplines, as well as complete the material quantity estimates, structure/foundation/equipment selection from standard library or previous project for review by engineer. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
