This position is part of the ADD Tribally Controlled Schools, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Program Support Specialist you will be responsible for providing assistance in the areas of program planning, project management, budget, and office administration necessary for the Division's program activities.
Duties
As a Program Support Specialist GS-0301-9, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Manages various administrative processes within the office.
Ensures office procedures meet the office needs and are consistently understood and followed by the staff.
Establishes, reviews, updates, and develops complex administrative office procedures that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work within the office.
Responds to administrative issues and inquiries and resolves a variety of conflicts regarding administrative policies and processes among organizational issues.
Screens incoming mail including correspondence, directives and publications.
Reviews grammar and format of letters, memos and emails and provides final version; expectation of correspondence in high executive level.
Plans and coordinates meetings, training sessions and technical assistance visits.
Develops and maintains a record and file system.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
GS-09: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience that is equipped with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service that includes: ensure program correspondence is prepared in accordance with proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats; use basic accounting and budgeting procedures in order to maintain accurate budget information; access a variety of automated tools and management information systems and available software to develop records, prepare presentation and graphics; provide and request information; conduct fact-finding interviews; explain conclusions and recommendations;
OR
Possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL. or J.D., if related;
OR
Possess a combination of successfully completed graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification's requirements.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.
