Duties

You will perform architecture work that involves the art and science of conceptualizing, planning, and implementing designs. You will plan, design, and facilitate projects utilizing a professional knowledge of architecture/engineering. You will engage in planning and/or designing construction, renovation and improvement projects for real property facilities, encompassing highly specialized or unique requirements. You will provide project management and coordinate support to assigned departments and competencies. You will manage and coordinate design and construction activities for facility maintenance, minor and major construction, capital improvement projects (CIP) (budget, schedules, site approvals, permitting, etc).

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing muti-discipline design projects (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.), facility service, design and construction contracts, and designing architectural an engineering infrastructure. Education

0808, Architecture Series:
Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.

OR

Combination of education and experience - college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a through knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.
