You will serve as a Postal Operations Specialist in the Naval Sea Logistics Center (NAVSEALOGCEN) located in CORONA, RIVERSIDE, CA of NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA.

Duties

You will prepare detailed briefs and reports and presents the results of business case analyses. You will provide accurate comprehensive information on administrative and technical aspects of mail operations. You will provide the command technical and administrative support and guidance in resolving mail management problems. You will be responsible for training and inspection of official and personal mail programs ashore. You will serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for Postal contracts assigned to local operations. You will monitor customer compliance with applicable mailing requirements and policies. You will control the Navy Official Mail Cost Control Program, regional Area of Responsibility (AOR) mail processing and routing and local registered mail program. You will analyze overall mail operations and evaluates the potential benefits/ uses of automation to improve efficiency at command, as well as influences internal mail operations at the customer activities. You will provides technical direction to tenant activities on postal operations and mail service programs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in managing postal operations to ensure compliance with directives, providing guidance to optimize mail management programs for enhance operational efficiency. Education

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
