This position is located on the Angell Forest Service Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Yachats, OR.
The incumbent serves as the Assistant Work Programs Officer (AWPO) with responsibility for the facilities and grounds maintenance, and fleet management.

Duties
May serve as alternate Safety Officer for the Center Safety and Occupational Health programs.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES - (20% or less of the time).
Plan and coordinate work projects, incorporating student training, and develop objectives and work plans.
Ensure that all procurement and contract actions are made in accordance with regulations and laws.
Responsible for the facilities and grounds maintenance, and fleet management.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

- Must obtain and maintain a valid commercial drivers license.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-9: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as 3 or more of the following: assisting with the planning of approved construction and maintenance projects; and/or drafting training and work plans for higher level review; and/or assisting with the administration of fleet; and/or assisting with contract and procurement actions; and/or applying, understanding, and explaining safety regulations.
OR
A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a directly related field (architecture, engineering and construction technology, building construction, facility management, contract management, facilities maintenance, or facilities engineering.)
OR
An appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
