Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap.
Duties
Incumbent will be assigned primarily to Naval Station Everett to provide direct customer service to patrons using the facility.
Responsibilities may include greeting customers, and refer telephone calls, provide information regarding the facility and programs.
Incumbent assists with planning, coordinating, and execution of classes, and special events.
Incumbent monitors programs for a multi-station customer facility that may include, but is not limited to a computer area, gaming area, movie/TV room, reading area, bowling lanes, children's play area, multipurpose rooms, and small snack bar.
May be required to drive an 8 or 15 passenger van, keep trip records, participant counts, and custody of equipment.
Distribute information.
Responsible for collection and safeguarding of any funds that may be collected as a result of a fee or change.
Assist in daily cleaning of equipment and facility and other related duties as assigned.
Incumbent may be assigned to work in the Paintball Program.
The incumbent may provide oversight to activities and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on the use of equipment. Duties to include equipment and field maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
- This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays.
- A valid state driver’s license and High School Diploma or equivalent.
- This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 45 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain food handler’s certification, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
- Work may require climbing in and around equipment, moving towable equipment and organization of seasonal equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Incumbent must have one-year practical work experience including direct customer service or experience with data entry, word processing, internet, e-mail, and at least one-year experience handling cash and utilizing point of sale system.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and communicate effectively and courtesy, using proper English both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to follow verbal and written directions, and present a neat and clean appearance.
