Duties
Works under the general supervision of the designated supervisor. Follows oral instructions or written work orders concerning the location of the job and the work to be done.
Operates heavy equipment to maintain multiple golf courses. Equipment used includes lawn mowers, tractors, fork lifts, aerators, verti-cut machines, backhoes, front-end loaders, dump trucks, and rollers
Performs necessary repair and maintenance work on equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Applies fertilizer, sow seeds, and sods needed areas. Sprays or applies insecticides and herbicides, as directed. When required, waters different areas of golf course.
Requirements

- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Position, duty hours, location and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Will be required to pass a physical examination.
Qualifications
1. Experience and training that furnish the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade; including skill in operating vehicles of the type described in the duties of the position.
2.Knowledge of vehicle safety regulations to determine when mechanical or operational problems indicate that vehicles are unsafe for operation.
3. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment.
4. Ability to read, understand, and apply instructions and other materials related to the job.
5. Ability to do the work of the position under normal supervision.
