You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN in the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery Military Treatment Facility of NMRTC ANNAPOLIS MD.
THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT.
Duties
You will document workplace conditions and any apparent violations of occupational safety and health standards.
You will provide written documentation of sampling for inclusion in command level survey reports.
You will manage equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair programs within the department.
You will perform field measurements using Industrial Hygiene sampling equipment.
You will prepare instructional outlines and provide technical instruction to Industrial Hygiene professionals .
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning, coordinating and conducting industrial hygiene sampling surveys to collect exposure monitoring data to assess work practices and environmental conditions;
Experience providing technical consultation and equipment training to industrial hygiene personnel;
Experience following up on abatement action, researching sampling strategies and providing training to personnel.
Experience supporting the Industrial Hygienist with the completion of sampling and work operations;
Experience writing technical briefs, procedures, sampling surveys and instructional outlines;
Experience applying Industrial Hygiene equipment practices, equipment operation and principles of design, diagnostic and repair techniques and technical writing skills required for maintaining equipment and calibration repair procedures;

Individual Occupational Requirements
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled.
