Duties

As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-2610-12, you will perform operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting on electronic integrated systems composed of a number of sensor subsystems: Integrated Helmet and Display Sight System (IHADDS), the Target Acquisition Designation System (TADS), the Pilot Night Vision System (PNVS), the Air Data Subsystem, the Heading Attitude Reference System (HARS) and Doppler Navigation System (DNS); a logic subsystem-- the Multiplex Data Bus System (MUX) and components including the Fire Control Computer (FCC), the Backup Control System (BUCS) and primary and secondary data buses, Multiplex Remote Terminal Units (MRTU), Data Link Terminal Units (DLTU), and Digital Automatic Stabilization Equipment Computer (DASEC); and actuating subsystems--the Point Target Weapon System (PTWS), Area Weapon System (AWS), Aerial Rocket Control System (ARCS), and the Digital Automatic Stabilization Equipment (DASE), which includes the Stability Augmentation System (SAS), Command Augmentation System (CAS) and Hover Augmentation System (HAS). Complete operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting of Line Replaceable Units (LRU). Complete bench check, testing, repair, inspection, modification, programming, reprogramming, mating, adjusting, alignment, and analyzing of LRUs and shop replaceable units. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary. Serve as member of flight crew for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements. Guide lower level mechanics in the performance of duties. Process and account for due-in supply assets. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations such as Operational Readiness Evaluations (ORE), Command Logistics Readiness Inspections (CLRT-X), and Aviation Resource Management Surveys. Perform other duties as assigned.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees working at the location specifiedAOC 2: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 3: All Service Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (to include Temporary Technicians) AOC 4: Service Members currently serving in another branch and are willing to become members of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 5: All others willing to become members of the Pennsylvania National Guard TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Military Grades: ENLISTED E1-E8 Supervisor for this position is MSG Rarick *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies. Thorough knowledge of principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory. Ability to interpret and trace schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
