You will serve as a Supervisory Firefighter in the Navy Fire and Emergency Services Department of NAS KEY WEST.
Duties
You will establish initial on-scene control during hazardous materials incidents.
You will assign work to junior firefighters or employees based on priorities, requirements, and capabilities.
You will perform be the Battalion Fire Chief of Operations, Battalion Chief of Training and Battalion Chief of Health and Safety.
You will inform senior leaders on performance, progress, training needs, or disciplinary actions of crew members.

- Per DoD 6055.6-M personnel selected for this position are required to complete Driver Operator-Aerial, deriver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator-Mobile Water Supply, and Airport Firefighter within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) performing command and control of emergency incidents; 2) Leading day to day operations for assigned shift providing guidance on firefighter related procedures; 3) Fighting structural, shipboard, and/or airfield fires using pre-fire planning methods and knowledge of layouts and design; 4) Operating firefighting emergency vehicles and equipment; 5) Providing hazardous material incident response; and, 6) Providing basic life support procedures as needed for each emergency call. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Airport Firefighter, Firefighter I/II, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Apparatus Driver-Operator for Pumper, Driver-Operator for Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Apparatus Driver/Operator - Aerial, Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials- Incident Command and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT-B).
