About the Position: The U.S. Army Contracting Command was established on March 14,2008. The mission of the ACC is to oversee more than $85 billion in contracts annually and focus on maintaining and improving the Army's ability to respond globally in support of the warfighter's needs.
Duties
Serve as Contract Specialist Instructor of Contract Administration Services.
Conduct lessons in form of lectures, workshops, and hands-on opportunities.
Establish long-range goals necessary to accomplish a major segment of the acquisition training mission.
Develop programs of instructions (POIs) to support training packages including lesson plans, assessments, and practical exams.
Coordinate with other instructors to create content for the development of curriculum.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Must file financial statement.
- This position requires the incumbent to perform duties with use of an unlimited Contracting Officer warrant. Candidates must be eligible for and satisfactorily pass a Class IV Contracting Officer Warrant Board prior to appointment.

Basic Requirement for Contract Specialist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
OR
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000; OR (B) you are a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 on or before September 30, 2000.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing guidance for procurement/contracting personnel; analyzing procurement policies and procedures for compliance with acquisition initiatives; utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to contracting functions to ensure compliance; assisting in development of lesson plans in accordance to current curriculum.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Education cannot be substituted for experience.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
