The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the work of personnel in Transportation in throughout CAVHCS locations consisting of two primary campuses, Montgomery and Tuskegee, Health Care Clinic, Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) Dothan, Dothan Mental Health, Fort Rucker Wiregrass, Columbus/Fort Benning and Monroeville.
Duties
Major duties include:
Responsible for supervising workers.
Scheduling and approving leave.
Plans, directs, and administers the maintenance program.
Provides direct oversight of the grounds operations.
Manages and assesses the effectiveness of all financial aspects of fleet operations.
Advises on the goals of cost reduction, energy reduction and productivity.
Plans and coordinates the vehicle rotation program.
Prescribes performance standards for subordinates.
Initiates vehicle procurement action.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The work of this position is primarily sedentary, but it requires periods of walking, standing, bending, or climbing, and employees may carry light items such as books, instruments, laptops, and other similar materials.
