Duties

You will install, maintain and repair a variety of complex equipment and systems involving power boilers with complicated components, critical requirements, and rigid tolerances. You will repair and maintain single and multiple fuel power boilers, pollution control equipment, water treatment systems, chemical dispensers, electrostatic precipitators, bag houses, ash removal equipment and wet particulate scrubbers. You will monitor and test the operation of power boiler systems to identify malfunctions and potential problems with equipment. You will perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant systems and equipment. You will service units by cleaning or replacing filters, strainers, orifices, ignition devices, and other items on power boilers.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A BOILER PLANT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION INCLUDING: 1) Installing , modifying, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing industrial or domestic boiler plant systems and equipment; 2) Planning, laying out and installing boiler plant systems and equipment from blueprints, sketches, etc.; 3) Working with processing lines that may contain hazardous materials; and 4) Following all safety requirements, practices, and procedures when working in a hazardous or industrial environment as well as on all work assignments.
