About the Position: The position of Cash Clerk performs a variety of food service and miscellaneous support tasks for Womack Army Medical Center dining facility and kitchen within the Nutrition Care Services.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
Duty Hours: 0615-1445 or 1000-1830

Duties
Work accurately with figures, reports, and cash/credit to ensure balance of cash drawers and vault change.
Utilize financial management information systems to accurately track, report and reconcile daily cash activities.
Maintain automated food management system to create and update all point of sale (POS) screens to reflect accurate items and prices.
Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, clients and staff.
Travel to off-site bank to exchange monies and make revenue deposits.
Verify customer eligibility and category to subsist in dining facility by checking documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear safety shoes in the work environment.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. General Experience: Six months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, using electronic cash system to track daily cash activities; reporting discrepancies in cash activities.
OR
Education: One year of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 6. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
