You will serve as a General Supply Specialist for NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK in Patuxent River, MD.

Duties

You will provide logistical and administrative support augmenting management efforts to evaluate and improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of various logistic programs. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate accumulating, assembling, assessing, analyzing, formulating and summiting supply reports. You will perform Quality Assurance by preparing surveillance reports and note performance deficiencies. You will investigate all supply related customer complaints or reports of deficiencies

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing general supply support work that requires a knowledge of inventory accuracy requirements, regulations and procedures to manage a warehouse. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Investigate any and all supply related customer complaints or reports of deficiencies in support of Inventory Accuracy; 2) Maintain current supply resource utilization and internal and external audit reports in order to monitor current and forecasted inventory accuracy; 3) Organize, collect, analyze and present statistical information related to current supply department workload; 4) Utilize supply and inventory programs such as Enterprise Resource Planning and Purchase Request creator to initiate various supplies, materials and/or service to support the warehouse and quality assurance operations. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree
or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
