Duties
This position allows you to use your knowledge and experience with a variety of logistical mission support performing significant review of budgets, logistics, procurement, inventory management and other areas of mission support resources.
This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $113,047.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $113,047.00 (GS-12 Step 10).

As a Mission Support Specialist (Logistics), you will be applying a wide range of administrative programs concepts, laws, policies, practices and analytical methods to address technical issues or problems relating to logistics and procurement services and processes. Duties include:
Managing the sector/station property program to include overseeing the ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing property.
Creating requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approval; performing Purchase Card transactions.
Managing Fleet program to include ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring and excess fleet vehicles; managing fleet records and various fleet reports.
Performing ongoing mentoring, training and guidance to peers, colleagues, employees and supervisors; assisting with developing and recommending solutions to a wide variety of logistics operations to improve services and process.
Performing other mission support related activities such as scheduling travel, processing personnel actions for payroll, vacation and overtime; managing fleet card programs performing audits, extracting reports, reporting fraud and processing override requests.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Evaluating expenditures and invoices to ensure allocations, commitments and expenditures are project and spent accordingly;
Developing protocols for property and equipment acquisition, use and accountability;
Conducting property inventories and maintaining property records;
Identifying and tracking sensitive property and equipment;
Processing lost, stolen, destroyed or missing property and equipment.

Education Substitution: There is no education substitution for the GS-12 grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 04/23/2024.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
