About the Position: This position is located in the Inpatient Pharmacy at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center 40 hours/week, rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Receive and review prescriptions. Fill prescriptions according to physician recommendations. Dispense prescriptions for medication orders. Utilizing automatic dispensing cabinets. Compound oral and sterile preparations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year experience which includes verifying accuracy of pharmaceutical labels; utilizing automated pharmacy systems to enter and retrieve data; compounding medications within a pharmacy. This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
