You will serve as a INSTRUMENT MECHANIC (HIGH VOLTAGE) in the UTILITIES DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will explain safety precautions to be followed in setting up machinery and equipment for instrument work. You will plan the use of equipment and materials needed to accomplish instrument work operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, test, calibrate, or install electrical or electronic components of power generating equipment. You will analyze directives and make recommendations to improve process efficiency for instrument work.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Utilizing proper safety precautions due to close proximity and high voltage for electrical high voltage equipment; 2) Selecting proper materials/tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, wire stripping tool, vibration meters, multimeters, oscilloscopes, meggers and/or ammeters according to the work assigned; and 3) Assisting in the maintenance and repair of a large electrical system. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
