The Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention is the principal organization within the FAA with respect to aircraft accident investigation and all activities related to National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Duties
The branch supports the development of voluntary mitigation strategies for system-wide hazards and the monitoring of system-wide mitigations adopted through these voluntary processes. Our mission is to make air travel safer through investigation, data collection, risk analysis and information sharing.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience in applying operational experience to analyze air carrier voluntary safety data, such as Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation Safety Action Plan (ASAP), or Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) programs.Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s), if applicable, may be further evaluated on the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) listed in the announcement.
