About the Position: Evaluation of permit applications and enforcement actions for projects in waters of the U.S. including navigable waters, as they relate to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act. The position will support the Northwestern Division (NWD) Technical Regional Execution Center (TREC). Workload will be assigned by the TREC, and will include remote review of projects across the NWD area of responsibility as determined appropriate by the TREC.

Duties

Administer and evaluate permits, including pre-application consultation, evaluating applications, and monitoring permit compliance. Participate in interagency meetings such as with a State Agency, or others with long-range planning needs. Analyze the full range of Public Interest Review (PIR) factors outlined in 33 CFR 320, 330, and any other factors which affect the decision to issue or deny permits and recommendations as to whether public hearings should be conducted. Develop and determine appropriate enforcement actions, including estimating the possible response and outcome.
