The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) Deputy Director and Logistics Manager; technical advisor in a squadron with 313 funded authorizations supporting three wings in a large joint base with a complicated operational mission.
Duties
As deputy to the commander, plans, organizes, and oversees the day-to-day support activities that the Squadron provides to the installation.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. The lead LRS civilian supervisor who actively manages oversight of all Requests for Personnel Action (RPA); routinely teams with 628 FSS Civilian Personnel and the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC).
Represents the Logistics Readiness Squadron for installation and functional area logistics readiness issues within and outside the organization.
Plans and directs training, resources, and systems required to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the squadron.
Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments to include long-term planning, functional technical advice and guidance, and continuity of management.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to a full range of logistics management to include cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicles management, vehicle maintenance, warehousing, deployment planning and operations, personal property movement, global fuels and cryogenics, Quality Assurance, and logistic plans under peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the squadron. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations and in formulating solutions to complex problems.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of subordinate installations/organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
