About the Position: This position is located in Palatka, FL.

Duties

Knowledge of navigation requirements for the area assigned, and incumbent must have skill in operating a high-powered airboat in inland waters under a variety of weather conditions Ability to assist Biologists with quarterly inspections of Invasive Species levels when requested and conduct independent inspections when required. Relay instructions from biologist concerning invasive species control activities Communicate and coordinate with Biologist regularly to ensure there are clear and easily understood plans of action for control of invasive species. Complete weekly assessment of crew performance and supply forms to supervisor. Operate medium pickup trucks to launch and retrieve airboats from loading ramp. Loads and unloads equipment Performs normal operator maintenance on assigned airboat including maintaining fuel and oil levels, adjustments and tune-ups, and cleaning and painting. Must be able to read and write in order to mix chemicals and herbicides according to written specifications and complete necessary reports.
