About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
Accounts for current and incoming inventory items.
Perform multiple accountability tasks to ensure proper safekeeping and disposition of property.
Utilize established guidelines to serve as delegated authority of Department of Defense Purchase Card Account.
Utilizes an automated supply system to maintain assigned organization’s assets.
Independently evaluates the need for facility and equipment maintenance.
Assists commander and staff members on all matters pertaining to motor vehicle management and maintenance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security background check.
- This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Government Purchase Card.
- This position requires you to possess a current or be able to obtain and maintain a HAZMAT certification.
- This position requires you to possess a current or be able to obtain and maintain a blood borne pathogens certification.
- This position requires you to be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- This position requires you to be able to utilize material handling equipment.
- This position requires you to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state issued or US territory issued driver's license and to be able to drive motor vehicles.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining an automated inventory system; resolving issues with supply requests; making approved purchases with a government or company credit card; and assisting in the management and/or maintenance of motor vehicles. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
