About the Position: This position is in the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Dir of Resource Management, Facility Management. Camp Pendleton is a large US Navy medical treatment facility in Oceanside, California, part of the United States' Military Health System. Located on Camp Pendleton in Camp Pendleton South, California in San Diego County.

Duties

Inspects work in progress in adherence with contract requirements and technical specification Conducts routine facility inspections applying NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Code, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code standards, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and other applicable regulatory standards. Coordinates the work efforts of maintenance and construction contractors with medical staff in affected areas to minimize disruption to patient treatment activities. Prepares designs, drawings, sketches, scopes of work and specifications for assigned systems, equipment, and structures. Performs technical review of designs and specifications prepared by others for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45# lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification (CHFM) within one year of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-[insert 11 or above]).
