You will serve as an EDITOR in the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE PRESS, CENTER FOR NAVAL WARFARE STUDIES, U.S. NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will assess works presented as proposals for possible submissions. You will advise senior leaders on manuscripts most suitable for production. You will collaborate with other offices regarding the steps required to produce a publication and the types of presentation media available.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluating book manuscripts and articles to determine suitability for publication; 2) Editing book manuscripts and articles to ensure accuracy, grammar, clarity of expression, formatting, and organization; 3) Coordinating with authors in order to recommend improvements and/or clarify questionable content. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully complete a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Successfully complete two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
