You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the Patient Administration, Director Administration of NMRTC PORTSMOUTH VA.

Duties

You will provide administrative support services to service members undergoing processing through the MEB and the entire DES. You will explain the significance completing forms ( intake, forms, physical forms) to ensure all condition are asses accurately during the MEB process. You will code the verbal description of disease into numerical designations using the International Classification of Disease, and Clinic Modification (ICD-9 CM). You will perform a variety of standard and non-standard clerical duties to coordinate travel arrangements, services and medical appointments for patients and their family members from distant areas of geographical regions. You will perform other duties as assigned.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • In accordance with BUMEDINST 6220.9B, all personnel and others who may come in contact with patients, must receive and maintain appropriate vaccination against seasonal influenza.

Qualifications

GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as a typist. Experience communicating both orally and written to answer incoming inquiry via phone calls/ emails. Experience using computer systems to respond to email inquiry. Experience working with Microsoft Word and ADOBE software. Experience organizing, tracking and closing out cases assigned to caseload. GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as a typist. Experience communicating both orally and written to answer incoming inquiry via phone calls/ emails.
