THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5259000 and is part of the NC USPFO, National Guard (USPFONC-SSD-CTO/ MD 162D-731).
MUST have Logistical Experience in Transportation, Maintenance or Quartermaster.
Duties
As an TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT, GS-2102-07, you will recognize, isolate, and resolve specific and general problems relating to proper utilization of common transportation services select modes of transportation and routing to obtain most efficient and economical service to the government in accordance with established policies and regulations; participate in the development of procedures and studies on a variety of one-time movements, special cargo activities, and repetitive high volume operations; be responsible for the inspection of commercial carriers equipment before and after use; receive requests for outbound Government Bills of Lading. Initiates and types documents for both foreign and domestic shipments.
MUST have Logistical Experience in Transportation, Maintenance or Quartermaster.
Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying basic rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of a transportation program. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training obtaining and interpreting information. Experience applying directives and regulations governing transportation of personnel, cargo or freight. Experience verifying legal entitlements or official authorizations for travel, securing from carriers guides and timetables, information regarding schedules, fares, and availability of space accommodations.
