The purpose of this position is to maintain and track data collected by installation law enforcement and security programs in support of the Reports and Analysis section.
Duties
Maintains and tracks Security Forces incident reports, tickets, barments, driving records, revocations, and suspenses using the Security Forces Management Information System (SFMIS).
Maintains controlled items.
Provides administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.

- Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Qualifications
This is a Term position NTE 13 months; the individual selected for this position may be non-competitively extended without further competition. Current Federal civilian employees may apply for this position using "Reinstatement" eligibility and if selected, a break in service of at least 4 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Security Clerical and Assistance Series 0086
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of standardized security methods, rules, regulations, and principles to provide support to security specialists in security administration; and perform nonstandard security assignments and resolve recurring problems. Knowledge of security procedures pertaining to handling and disposing of classified material, such as classification markings, accountability and control, declassification, and destruction procedures. EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of basic security processes and procedures.
Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations and produce a variety of documents and reports.
Knowledge of general clerical and office functions and procedures, as well as the basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and standard abbreviations.
Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
