About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Duties
Works closely with the battalion Safety Officer to ensure compliance with the unit Hazardous Communication Program (HAZCOM).
Manages battalion HAZMAT/HAZWASTE program.
Responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements regarding the handling, storing, tracking, reporting, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous waste and hazardous materials.
Serves as a directorate representative on the US Army Alaska Hazardous Substance Management System working group.
Assists the battalion maintenance Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) with ensuring that the unit and all subordinate units follow Army Regulations and higher headquarters policies and regulations.
Provides oversight of the Global Combat Supply System-Army (GCSS-A) operations.
Reviews/analyzes readiness reports/problems, determines root causes of problems and/or trends and recommends corrective actions to the S4.
Assists the S4 and Non-Commissioned Officer-In-Charge (NCOIC) with managing the Command Maintenance Discipline Program (CMDP)throughout the battalion.
Works facility contractual requirements that fall in Facility Infrastructure – Mission Unique Equipment (FI-MUE) category and coordinates with higher S4/G4Engineers.
Ensures deficiencies in power infrastructure are identified, documented, and added to resource planning for maintenance, repair, or replacement.
Ensures proper maintenance is performed IAW applicable regulations and contracts.
Performs duties of Site Power Coordinator. SPC ensures continuous operation of facility power equipment and systems that support information technology operations.
Prepares, submits, and tracks work orders for repair and modifications as required by the command.
Provides logistics expertise to the S3 Plans office for current and future construction projects as required.
Coordinates with the installation Facility Management agencies to gather estimates for work orders, and coordinates funding requirements with the unit Resource Manager.
Requirements

- Up to 10% Business Travel required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe two years specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by knowledge of work orders and submitting them in the required programs; knowledge of Army and Air Force regulations concerning facilities management; submitting work orders for multiple facilities; ability to communicate clearly and concisely Commands to include the Army, Air Force, Army Corp of Engineers, along with other agencies; must be able to read floor plans and understand schematics related to the working projects.
