The position serves as the Housing Assistant for the Tuskegee, Alabama VA. Program aligned under the Social Work Service. This individual has primary responsibility for coordination of housing resources and outreach to increase and maintain appropriate housing options.
Duties
As Housing Management Assistant, you will perform a variety of housing assignment and termination functions, including providing assistance, counseling and guidance to eligible military and civilian personnel and their family members.
This includes Army Family Housing (AFH), Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH), government furnishings, Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA), Move-In Housing Allowance (MIHA), and Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA).
Determine eligibility for Army Family Housing and Unaccompanied Personnel Housing.
Place applicants (military and civilian) on the appropriate housing waiting list considering rank, family composition, priority for assignment, and special requirements such as handicap access, exceptional family members, etc.;
Counsel prospective and current tenants with regards to rights, privileges and responsibilities of occupancy in government quarters or private rental housing.
Conduct group housing in-processing and out-processing.
Schedule assignment, pre-termination and termination inspections and accompany customer during preview inspections. Determine eligibility for government furnishings (furniture and appliances)
