This position is located in Denver Service Center, in the Design and Construction Division in either Lakewood, CO or Washington, DC.
The incumbent manages design and construction programs east and west teams and participates on the senior management team. Incumbent manages staff, programs, and budget for the team and branches assigned to this division.
Duties
The major duties of the Supervisory Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Landscape Architect/Architect position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manages design and construction programs east and west teams and participates on the senior management team.
Manages staff, programs, and buget for the team and branches assisgned to this division.
Manages staff and contractors to accomplish the Line-Item Construction Program and the Park Direct Charge projects of the National Park Service.
Develops and implements procedures and policies to accomplish the Denver Service Center and the National Park Service Construction Program.
Monitors the professional's quality of all projects through personal involvement and through subordinate supervisors.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-15 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: 1) Providing leadership; managerial and oversight responsibilities for the effective use of division staff and resources in meeting organizational goals and objectives. This includes directing the activities of the division, assessing the needs and trends in project management for planning, design, and construction project delivery/execution for approved programs/projects. Justify the divisional budget requirements, balancing program needs, and allocating resources as needed/required. 2) Utilizes supervising skills providing leadership, technical recommendations and guidance to divisions' management team and subordinates. Develops performance goals, standards, and metrics and applies both quantitative and qualitative data to measure individual and organizational performance. Uses the results to identify and implement ways to close gaps and continuously improve performance. 3) Fosters partnerships with other Divisions, Directorates, Federal agencies, etc. through a collaborative environment to meet division, program, office, and department needs. Builds strategic partnerships and collaborative relationship across business lines through effective communication, problem solving and customer service. 4) Mentors staff in career counseling, advancement, and education, training, and professional development. 5) Resolves disciplinary problems and works closely with human resource experts for grievances or more serious complaints. You must include hours per week worked.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
